Therapist profile
Hello, my name is Susannah and I am an experienced and qualified psychodynamic counsellor working with adults and older teenagers. I offer counselling to those who may be struggling from anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, abuse, trauma/PTSD, low mood, relationship issues, bereavement/loss, OCD, and more. I aim to listen with compassion and genuine warmth and no problem is too big or too small. Counselling is a place where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, focus on yourself in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space and feel supported through whatever difficulties you are facing.
I have worked voluntarily as a counsellor and assessor for two mental health charities as well as working privately in Bristol and South Gloucestershire. The type of counselling I offer is psychodynamic which means we will think together about the underlying meaning of your emotions and where they have stemmed from. It is a deeper form of counselling where we will examine and explore influences and unresolved conflicts that arise from the past and to encourage self-compassion, curiosity and self-awareness.
