What is Reflexology?
The origins of Reflexology date back to around 2330 BC, being practised by the early Indian, Chinese and Egyptian people. It is a precisely defined form of treatment based on the principle that the anatomy of the body is reflected in miniature on reflex zones/points on the feet and hands. By working on these reflexes using specific techniques of holds and pressures, blockages in the energy pathways are cleared, inducing relaxation and balance.
Reflexology can be used to help restore and maintain the body's natural equilibrium. It can help with relaxation, improving mood, aiding sleep, relieving tension and providing a sense of wellbeing. Reflexology is suitable for all ages and may bring relief from a wide range of acute and chronic conditions by treating the whole person and not just the symptoms.

My name is Pippa and I am holistic therapist offering massage and holistic treatments at The Old Rectory Clinic. I have gained a lot of experience working in a range of spas and salons over the four years that I have been in the industry, including working abroad in Crete, Greece! I feel that massage is the best way to ease people of any pain they are experiencing, whether that be emotional or physical. It is surprising how much emotion or tension we hold in our bodies perhaps without realising.
