Therapist profile

I trained with the European College of Bowen Studies qualifying in 2003, enjoying every minute of the course. I’ve since worked with a variety of clients and problems with great success and now specialise in chronic (long term) pain and sports injuries.

I have served as a committee member and been a past Chair with BTPA (Bowen Therapy Professional Association). I have also served on the Bowen Forum helping Bowen toward self-regulation with the CNHC the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council - the UK voluntary regulator for complementary therapists.

Bowen and Neural Touch are holistic therapies with no 'hard' manipulation or force used. They involve moves over muscle and soft tissue aimed at balancing the muscle and connective tissue which hold our skeleton, bringing it back into the optimum state for use. These therapies, because of their lack of force are suitable for all ages.

They recognise that the body maintains its structure through the inter-relationship of muscle and fascia. Fascia is connective tissue which provides a covering for all structures and organs of the body including muscles; it allows flexibility and movement between various parts of the body. Bowen and Neural Touch address the muscle structure and fascial tissue to bring about changes in posture, in turn bringing about skeletal realignment. By changing the way in which muscle and fascia interact, structure becomes more balanced and stable. Because of this approach Bowen and Neural Touch often have a longer lasting effect on body alignment than many other therapies.
