Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course

This eight week MBSR course starts on Friday 29th September 6pm-8pm

This eight week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course is a practical and experiential course being held at The Old Rectory Clinic in Iron Acton. It is a highly acclaimed and evidence based stress reduction programme used in medical centres across the world to help people deal with the stress of modern day living, anxiety, depression and chronic pain. The course aims to assist you in taking better care of yourself and in getting the most out of living. The majority of people who complete the programme report lasting physical and psychological benefits including:

An increased ability to relax

Greater energy and enthusiasm for life

Heightened self-confidence

An increased ability to cope more effectively with both short and long term stressful situations

The aim of the programme is to lean new ways to manage challenging physical sensations, feelings, moods of social interactions.

The course is weekly for eight weeks 6pm-8pm on the following dates:

Friday 6th October

Friday 13th October

Friday 27th October

Friday 3rd November

Friday 10th November

Friday 17th November

Friday 24th November

Saturday 4th November 10am - 4pm. The course fee is £250.

The course is facilitated by Jo Augustus, BSc Hons, MSc, BA Hons, Cert MA, MBACP, BABCP. Jo is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Worcester and is an experienced Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, having started her career in the NHS over 12 years ago, delivering individual and group base psychological interventions. She has practiced mindfulness for several years and uses it in both individual and group based settings. Jo completed her Level One Mindfulness Teacher Training course in 2016 and is working towards a certificate in competency with the Centre of Mindfulness Research and Practice at Bangor University. Jo adheres to the UK Good Practice Guidelines for Mindfulness Based Teachers.

Yoga Relaxation Workshop

Saturday 6th May - 9.00pm - 1.00pm

Our Yoga teacher, Travis Roth is running a Saturday morning relaxation yoga workshop on Saturday 6th May 2017. This workshop is open to everyone - all levels and all abilities welcome.The workshop is a chance to practice a selection of poses that aid in relaxing and calming the mind and body. We will also explore the use of several breathing techniques in aiding relaxation. There will be an extended guided relaxation session, so please feel free to bring blankets and extra layers to keep yourself cosy and warm during the moments of stillness. Complimentary tea, coffee and cake will be available afterwards; as will Travis if there are any questions you want to ask or feedback you want to give after the session.
